Definition of Terms
· Prohibited items – items whose import into the country is prohibited.
· Items admitted conditionally – items whose importation into the country is allowed with the term if a document issued by the relevant authorities of the exporting country is presented.
· Items admitted without conditions – items whose import into the country is allowed.

- Items containing lithium batteries, liquids or aerosols.
- Arms (93.01-93.05, 93.07), firearm components (including replica firearms ); ammunition (93.06) and explosives (36.01-36.04), of all kinds. Prohibited knives and edged weapons, crossbows;
- Defensive chemical dispensers (mace, pepper spray, tear gas, etc.), electric stun guns, etc.;
- Explosives (fireworks, blasting equipment, etc.);
- Compressed and liquefied gases and their containers (lighters, hairsprays, aerosols, etc.);
- Flammable liquids and solids, and spontaneous combustion materials;
- Toxic substances; Biochemical products, infectious substances; Radioactive materials; Corrosive substances.
- Coins (71.18), banknotes, currency notes, securities of any kind payable to bearer, travellers' cheques, counterfeit currencies and counterfeit negotiable securities (49.07).
- Printed matter (49.01, 49.02, 49.11), films (37.04, 37.05), photographs (4911.91), gramophone records, cinematographic films (37.06), loaded recording tapes and videotapes, compact discs (video and audio) (85.23), storage medium for the computer and other articles which are detrimental to the political, economic, cultural and moral interests of the People's Republic of China.
- Deadly poisons of all kinds.
- Opium (1302.11), morphine, heroin (2339.11), marijuana (1211.90) and other addiction-inducing drugs and psychedelic substances.
- Animals, plants and products thereof infected with or carrying disease germs, insect pests and other harmful organisms.
- Foodstuff, medicines and other articles coming from epidemic-stricken areas and harmful to man and livestock or those capable of spreading diseases.
- Platinum (71.10), gold (71.08) and silver (71.06), whether manufactured or not, precious stones (71.02, 71.03, 71.04), jewels or other valuable articles.
Wherever possible, the mobile phone number of the addressee should be provided on the CN 22, CN 23 or CP 72 customs declaration forms for all letterpost, parcel-post and EMS items containing goods destined for mainland China.
