· Prohibited items – items whose import into the country is prohibited.
· Items admitted conditionally – items whose importation into the country is allowed with the term if a document issued by the relevant authorities of the exporting country is presented.
· Items admitted without conditions – items whose import into the country is allowed.

Part II:
Conditions of admission of articles imported or in transit
2.1 Animals Live animals may not be sent by post, with the exception of bees, leeches and silkworms, provided they are properly packaged.
2.7 Narcotics The importation of insured boxes containing opium, morphine, cocaine or other narcotics used for medicinal or scientific purposes is permitted only withauthorization issued by the Directorate of Health.

Only duly registered firms may import medicaments (specialities). The packaging and labels must indicate all information regarding the name and composition of the medicament.
Diamonds and precious stones may be imported in insured registered letters.
Raw celluloid and photographic and cinematographic films must be packed in a metal case and placed in a solid wooden crate. Appropriate packing material must be placed between theupper edges and the sides to avoid any damage to the contents. The cover must be tightly screwed shut to guarantee full security.

Special provisions, Customs and other

Customs declarations must be filled out correctly. Any false, ambiguous or incomplete declaration could result in confiscation of the item or payment of a fine by the addressee.
If the goods are liable to ad valorem taxes, the item must be accompanied by a bill in duplicate indicating a detailed description of the contents and the value of each article.
Commercial invoices are required.
Except for plants and seeds, certificates of origin, furnished by the sender, need not be inserted for purposes of customs clearance. However, if these certificates are missing, the highest clearancefee charges will be applied to the parcels.
Any postal parcel or any ordinary, registered or insured item containing a false declaration as to its contents or value may be confiscated by Customs. Customs may also confiscate items and postalparcels containing articles whose importation is prohibited or restricted. Because it is considered a serious offence intended to deceive customs authorities, a false declaration regarding contents will automatically result in seizure of the parcel or item concerned. Addressees will be tried before a special Customs tribunal.
